Landscape Design London Apartments

Client: Scenario Architects

Location: Finchley, London N3

Scope of Work: Planning

Site Scale: Small to Medium Residential Plot

  • Project Overview

Delivered in collaboration with Scenario Architecture, this landscape scheme for Chancellor Court on Regents Park Road transforms a modern four-storey apartment building into a layered, green residential environment. The development includes eight self-contained units with private gardens, communal terraces, and integrated green infrastructure.

  • Spatial Strategy: Layered Outdoor Living

The design responds to architectural form with a split-level terrace system that wraps each elevation. Key features include:

    • Private ground-floor terraces
    • Communal roof gardens
    • Raised planters for greenery and privacy
    • Louvered fencing for filtered views and enclosure

These elements create garden “rooms” that support both individual retreat and shared interaction.

  • Green Infrastructure and Sustainability

The scheme prioritises ecological performance and urban resilience through:

    • Extensive green roofs across multiple levels
    • A vertical living wall on the primary elevation
    • Low-maintenance planting suited to microclimate conditions

These features enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, reduce noise, and support rainwater attenuation—aligned with the London Plan’s Urban Greening Factor.

  • Design Process

Xoxotica provided full landscape services from concept to delivery:

    Pre-planning design development

    Construction began

    Project completion

Detailed plans, planting palettes, lighting integration, and 3D visualisations ensured clarity and precision throughout.

  • Material Palette and Detailing

A restrained, durable material palette unifies the outdoor spaces:

    • Timber-effect composite decking
    • Bespoke concrete seating and planters
    • Permeable gravel surfaces
    • Corten and powder-coated metalwork

These choices balance warmth, resilience, and low maintenance

  • Urban Living and Local Impact

Located near Regent’s Park, the scheme enhances the Camden streetscape with visual richness and ecological value. It offers residents a sustainable, high-quality outdoor experience—whether enjoying a quiet nook, sunlit terrace, or shaded garden retreat.
